This coming Friday 20th Jan. a group of 12 people from ON COURSE FOUNDATION will be visiting the island of Menorca and play golf at Son Parc every day. The group is formed by 10 injured servicemen soldiers, 1 top pro golf coach Mr. Richard Harrison and 1 coordinator Mr. Ben Simpson.
On Course Foundation is there to encourage this people to get involved in golf.
Not only to learn to play, but with the idea of helping them to actually getting employment within the industry.
The soldiers at Golf Son Parc will receive every day a golf tuition on the Practice Range by their Pro and the help of our local Pros and after lunch a
9 hole TEXAS SCRAMBLE Competition will be played.
On their last day thursday the 26th the TEXAS SCRAMBLE will be played with some members of the Golf Club or people interested in participating.

Just to let you know how Golf Son Parc has got in contact with them we have to thank ANNE MADDISON from Rest and Recover Menorca who came to the golf course and talked to Hugh Brown who generously providing the soldiers with the free use of the golf course and driving range.
She saw an article about the On Course Foundation project and got in contact with John Simpson the founder of the charity who was the former Senior Vice President of the largest sports Marketing & Media Company in the World "International Management Group (IGM)". She already had some free accommodation in Son Parc so from that point On Course accepted to bring a group of golfers to Menorca for a week.

THIS COMING FRIDAY 11/11/11 THE MENORCA MASTERS TOURNAMENT IN SON PARC!!!!!!!!!!!
"The Menorca Masters Tournament. A fun end of season golf day. The aim is to get 40 golfers to compete in a Team Stableford, & Individual Stableford competitions. We will also have a Long drive challenge, a nearest to the pin challenge, & a chip in challenge. There will be prizes for each competition and challenge. The winner of the Individual Stableford will win the coveted Menorca Masters' Blazer. The plan is to Tee off in groups of four at 10.00 o'clock shotgun start. There will be a BBQ on your return to the club house, followed by a presentation to the winners and a few celebratory drinks.
The cost of the day is 50€, this includes your round of golf, entry into all competitions, lunch and a charity donation, Members of the golf club will pay €25 with food included. If visitors has got green fee vouchers they can use it and pay only €25 for the charity and food.
Dan DCD nephew in the Uk has Prader Willi Syndrome and this is why he has chosen PWSA as the charity. There is a link below to the pwsa uk website for more information. Ten Euros of each entry fee is going straight to PWSA. He also looking for sponsors for each hole. The sponsor will have a Banner 100cm x 100cm on the Tee of the hole they sponsor. The cost of this is 100€. Dcd will provide the artwork for free and the banner will be produced at material costs and the rest will go to PWSA. The sponsors will also be mentioned in the local press, and will enjoy the benefits of a facebook group and links to websites.

MENORCA WON 28 MEDALS AT THE ISLAND GAMES IN THE ISLE OF WIGHT 18 July 2011
Menorca has participated between June 25th and July 1st for the third time in the Island Games this year in the Isle of Wight in southern England and has returned with 28 medals between gold, silver and bronze.
These games bring together 24 islands with a population of fewer than 100,000 citizen and began in 1985 in the Isle of Man and meet biennially for athletes to compete in 14 different sports, golf it's one of them.
Menorca players representing golf on the Isle of Wight (earning the position in the runking which took place throughout 2010 and 2011) were: Emiliano Pons, Jordi Tudela, Xavier Mascaro, Tony Brownlow and Isabelle van der Graaf, Delegate Paola Ferroni and golf teacher Danny Duffain. They had to face a very high level, almost professional players as well as playing in two highly technical courses and exposed to the english weather.
The competition was played individual stroke play in two golf courses: Freshwater Bay Golf Club: One of the most expectaculares courses of England, the other Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club, is another one well known for its natural beauty. Each day took into account the 3 best results of the players. Once added the 4 days, Menorca was ranked in tenth place at the level of equipment ISLE OF WIGHT GOLF RESULTS
These games are a true experience of cultural exchange, fellowship and camaraderie that is worth experiencing.
Now the new goal is going to Bermuda in 2013!!!!!!

FINALISTS TO THE ISLAND GAMES AT THE ISLE OF WIGHT IN JUNE 2011 07 June 2011
On last Saturday 2nd April, the last IGA Menorca golf competition has been played to be able to identify the 4 best male players and the best lady who qualified to participate in the next Island Games to be played at the Isle of Wight at the end of June.
The tournament rule stipulated 7 competition over 2 years where the best 4 results according to each competition points came to grant the honor to participate at the games.
The ranking male, especially, has been tight to the last, where we have finally confirmed the following players as winners:
1º Emiliano Pons with 93 total points
2º Jordi Tudela with 92 points
3º Javier Mascaro with 86 points
4 th with 78.75 points Silverio Pons
The winner in the women's ranking was Isabel van der Graaf with 100 points.
The rule of the competition was including reserves in case some of the classified players will not be able to participate and go to Isle of Wight.

Female reserve: Maria Teresa Juaneda
The team formed will meet soon with our professional coach Gustavo Flammia to be able to train together.
FINAL RESULTS OF MENORCAN CROSS AT GOLF DE SON PARC 07 June 2011
Last Sunday 23rd January more than a hundred runners brave the cold weather prevailing in the island and competed in Son Parc in the Final of Cross Island, organized by the Consell Insular de Menorca and the delegation of the Federation of Athletics and the collaboration of Golf Son Parc who collaborated with the circuit.
In the men won the race Carlos Herrera (Xtrem Menorca
Athletics) in the first Cross contesting this year, but the absolute winner
Juan José Cerro Challenge was that a total of 48 points won in the category
queen. On the podium Juanjo athletes accompanied him also of Pedro Xtrem
Pallicer and Jaume Torres along with the dynamics of the season. In category
The female winner was Chus Morla (Xtrem Menorca Athletics) who also won
in scoring in the F40 category.
This test served as a rehearsal for the 30th of January that the

BALEARIC CROSSCHAMPIONSHIP AT GOLF DE SON PARC 07 June 2011
On Sunday January 23rd was held at the golf course of the urbanization of Son Parc (Es Mercadal, Menorca) Final Season 2010-2011 Cross of Menorca, in its second edition, this event served as a dress rehearsal for the runners Menorca Island to contest the January 30th School Cross Championship Islands and Federated.
This championship, after 27 years, will be held at Golf Son Parc (Urb. Son Parc), where its 300 runners may also enjoy a day of sport and fellowship, in a natural setting, as it is this golf course, a place where flora and fauna live together, and seems to be, quite rightly, in our opinion, which is emerging as the best circuit for this kind of championships.
From 9.45 am Golf Son Parc will open the doors, which will result in the delivery of the dorsal and registration in the category. The first race will play the adapted runners category, the winners will represent Baleares school in the national championship to be held on 26 and 27 March.
Child categories, cadet, junior, senior promise and will participate in races of 500, 1,000 and 2,000 meters to complete the race starting from the 12:45 h
U16 GOLF MENORCA JUNIOR OPEN 07 June 2011
23RD -24th OCTOBER 2010
The U16 Golf Menorca Junior Open has been organized to bring together the best young golfers from across Europe in a competitive environment, but relaxing in the beautiful island of Menorca.
The tournament was played last weekend starting on Friday 22nd from 17.30 hours on a putting green contest sponsored by Air Berlin and a competition ball nearest to the hole sponsored by Monarch Airline in the hole 3. At 19.30 hrs began the tournament presentation attended by the presidents of the Balearic Federation of Golf, Cheshire County male and female and also the Mayor of Es Mercadal Francisco Ametller. Awards were given about the putting green and nearest to the pin competition to Nuria Iturrios for putting with a final result of -5 and Marc Bisellach closer to the ball from the red tees and Antonio Recuenco (Son Parc) from yellow.
The tournament has been played for 2 days accompanied by gorgeous sunshine and a pleasant temperature which has encouraged the celebration of this event. Boys and girls aged 11-16 who played 36 holes have contended the 1st U16 Scratch Trophy at stroke play format and players aged 6-10 years played only 18 holes.
There was a lot of integration by the participants, organizers, captains, parents who attended the tournament and volunteers. Young people enjoyed a great weekend and certainly made new friends.
The overall winner of the 36 holes Scratch Champion of 1st U16 JUNIOR GOLF OPEN MENORCA was JOSH GARSIDE with a result of 140 shots (69 1st day and 71 on the second day).
In the male cadets hcp categories 1st place went to JORDAN JONES hits a net total of 140 and 2nd place with 141 MARC JUGGINS.
Female cadets in the 1st category was rated with 138 shots by GEMMA CLEW and 2nd Total net with 140 CHARLOTTE LEATHAM.
In the junior category hcp the first male was classified SAMUEL EVERTON a total of 119 net JAIME DICK 2nd with 135.
Youngsters in the male category winner was MIGUEL BISELLACH SERVERA hcp (Golf Son Servera) with a net total of 138 and ranked 2nd with 140 JOHN PAUL RALPH.
As for juvenile and child categories female winner was ANNA PAGES with a total of 138 net.
In the category BENJAMIN, Scratch Champion U16 MENORCA GOLF JUNIOR OPEN 18 holes was ISMAEL SANZ OUEZZANI with a total of 84 shots and in the category of Benjamin hcp first and second were MARCOS BANET and MARC BISELLACH SERVERA with respectively 67 and 71.
Incorporeted in the U16 Menorca Golf Junior Open the fourth match has been played between teams from the Balearic Federation of Golf (FBG) and Cheshire Golf Union (CGU) to the Matthew Brown Cup and this year the Cheshire team won again with an advantage of 23 points, so at this time the two teams are tied. The FBG has won the cup the first two years while the Cheshire team the last two. Let's see who wins next year !!!!!!
FINAL MENORCA CROSS AT GOLF SON PARC 30 January 2011
Next Sunday 23rd January the final of Menorca Cross organized by the Menorcan Delegation of the Athletic Federation will take place at the golf Son Parc from 9.30 until 12.00 o'clock with different categories.
Everybody who is interested in looking at it is welcome to come along and enjoy the day. After the competition a prizegiving will take place at the Golf Son Parc Bar and a special menú will be served to all participants and visitors. The cost of the menu will be €13 per person.

SOLHEIM Cup Vice Captain Joanne Morley will be hosting her annual Junior Challenge at Chorlton Golf Club on Friday October 29th 2010.
Originally the competition was to be staged at Sale but due to Cheshire Juniors being in Menorca and Sale being booked up the competition venue has been changed to Chorlton and the organisers are grateful for Chorlton for being our hosts in 2010.
The competition has produced many young stars over the years who have gone on to achieve national and county glory including Styal’s David Horsey and England junior players such as Rachael Goodall, Rachel Connor, Kelly Tidy, and Ian Winstanley.
The competition is for junior boys and girls under the age of 16 on January 1 2010 and the main sponsors are De Vere Wychwood Park, Sport4Life, the Golf Foundation, The Golf School, Altrincham and WGTB Golf.

FIRST COMPETITION FOR IGA MENORCA ISLE OF WIGHT 2011 07 June 2010
Today 43 players are opening the IGA MENORCA games. They will have to dispute 7 rounds thourght this year and next year to be able to clasify and participate to the IGA games at the Isle of Wight.
At the end of the 7 rounds only the best 4 will count and the 1st and 2nd classified man and lady will go directly. The third position will be determinated by the FBG Menorca and the IGA MENORCA Committe.

THE GOLF AND THE BALEARIC FEDERATION AT MAHON SPORT FAIRTRADE 28 May 2010
The fairground in Mahon hosted from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 the second edition of "Gaudeix", a festival dedicated to leisure, sport and health organized by Fires i Congressos de Balears and the Consell de Menorca.
It is fair for everybody who wants to become a major sporting event in which everyone their space encientre said the Regional Minister for Economy, Antonia Allés.
Balearic Islands Golf Federation was present through the Delegation in Minorca, represented by the delegate, Paola Ferroni and Club de Golf Son Parc to the installation of an information stand and a practice area that was attended by the Club professional Golf Son Parc, Gustavo Flammia and other people from the Committee.

TODAY WE REOPEN HOLE 8 09 March 2010
After almost 3 months that the green on hole number 8 was closed to be rebuilt, today in conjuction with a very Sunny day and the "1st Trophy East against West" the Green keepers decided to reopen the hole for the joy of all memebrs and visitors.
We made some improvements not only on the green but the general hole itself. So we hope everybody enjoy it when they will play.

On Saturday, April 3rd during an extraordinary plenary in HE. Municipality of Es Mercadal new mayor has been invested D. Francesc Ametller, so far, it had occupied the second Deputy Mayor's Office, being the head of the areas of internal organization, Interior, Finance, Tourism and Sports Zone.
During this event the new mayor has said that one of his priorities is to promote the social area of the municipality.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN GOLF BALEARIC FEDERATION AND AIR EUROPA 09 March 2010
The Balearic Golf Federation (FBG) through its president, Mr. Vicente Mulet Traserra and the airline Air Europa, represented by its deputy general director Mr. José Ma Hoyos, have signed a cooperation agreement for 2010.
The agreement is among other advantages:
1. Amateur players and professionals of the Balearic Golf Federation (BP) are aware of federal license fee, they can enjoy discounts on domestic routes and international routes.
2. Being federated through FBG, you can enjoy 30 kgs of excess baggage on any flight operated by Air Europa. The only condition is present your federation card (BP) at the check-in desk.

SNOW AT GOLF SON PARC 09 March 2010
Since yesterday Menorca was under a Snow Storm. It has been 24 years since menorcans has seen such a quantity of snow on the island and the golf course look really "COOL". The temperature is still low about 2ºC and the forecast says snow for today again.
The Course Manager, Vicente Coll and the Head Greenkeeper Gary Reid has decided to close all the facilities until Monday 15th Feb.

KAYAK MENORCA WATER SPORTS CENTRE SEPTEMBER 2009 19 November 2009
Following the increase in the popularity of nautical sports, especially kayaking, the Menorca Nautical Centres have taken advantage of the excellent climate of the island during the month of September, and are organizing the I Concentración Popular de Kayak/ Menorca Water Sport Centres 2009, a four day event which takes place along the Menorca coast.
The participants in this sports event, which will take place on September 17, 18, 19 and 20 2009 shall have the opportunity to known Menorca from an unusual perspective, perhaps the most natural and authentic one: from the sea.
The event, which is not competitive, is open to the whole public, since the routes are designed for anyone with basic physical training.
Next October from the 1st to the 8th the GOLF WEEK will take place at Son Parc Golf Club.

Cheshire takes the Trophy 19 November 2009
During the May Bank Holiday weekend we have held the III Internation Golf Tournament "The Matthew Brown Cup", a competition which is played as a Ryder Cup format, with the junior team from Cheshire competing against the junior team from the Balearic Federation.
The Balearic Team represented by Pep Juaneda, Captain of the team, the boys, Toni Ferrer, Jaime Fuster, from Club de Golf Son Servera, Ataulfo del Hoyo, from Real Golf de Bendinat & Diego Oosterlynck, from Golf Park Puntiró, & Alejandra Ferrer, Captain, Azahara Mellado & Isabel van der Graaf, from Golf Son Parc & the other players from the Club de Son Servera, Neus Crende & Nuria Jiménez, were unable to retain the trophy this time.
On Friday afternoon once the practise session had finished, Paola Ferroni directed the presentation ceremony, the official introduction of the teams and the players. Mr. Hugh Brown, organizer of the event and and administrator of Son Parc, and speaking for the Cheshire Team Mr Ted Leather, President of thel Cheshire Union of Golf Clubs, and representing the Balearic Golf Federation, Vanessa Vignali, who acted as Team captain.
Saturday was the first day of play both morning and afternoon; in the morning 5 mixted foursomes were played with results favourable to the balearic Team, thanks to the three victories of the pairs made up of Toni & Neus, Ata & Nuria & Diego e Isabel a tie. After a short rest for lunch, at 14:00 h the fourballs went out (2 players being rested), when the Balearic player lost all of their advantages obtained during the morning, and they were only able to obtain 1 victory, that of the pair made up by Toni & Pep. The day concluded in a draw of 9 points each team.
Sunday morning 10 individual matches went out. The Balearic team needed to win 5 matches in order to retain the Trophy. Alejandra, Pep & Toni managed the first victories in their matches. The Balearic Team were unable to make any other victories, only one more point which corresponded to a draw in a very tight match between Isabel Van der Graaf & Poppy Finlay. This way the final result was favourable to the English team made up of the following players: Dominica Barnes (capitain)from Caldy GC, Charlie Berry from Heswall GC, Tom Heggarty from the Royal Liverpool GC, Cameron Massey from Chorlton cum Hardy GC, Haydn McCullen from Didsbury Gc, Bronte Law (capitain) from Bramhall GC, Gemma Clews from Ashton on Mersey GC, Chrlotte Leatham from Styal GC, Abbie Cowlard from Reddish Vale GC & Poppy Finlay from Vicars Cross GC, with a final result of 22 to 16.
The event has once again been a great experience for all especially the Spanish who were able to measure their skills against those of another country as well as enjoying great companionship and a good team atmosphere.
Golf Son Parc Menorca present at the sport and leisuire Exhibition in Mahon GAUDEIX!! In collaboration with the Delegation of the FBG in Menorca 19 November 2009
On the 17th to 19th April was held at the Recinto Ferial of Mahon, the first edition of GAUDEIX!! A multi-event entertainment, sport and health, organized by Fires i Congressos de Balears, in collaboration with the Consell Insular de Menorca, Serprosport, Biosport and Yabadu Travel.
This exhibition focuses on people of all ages had as main objective to offer the opportunity to learn and practice different sports activities and techniques, among which was the golf course.
Golf Son Parc Therefore, together with the Delegation of the Balearic Federation in Menorca had a Stand to give information about golf and lessosn, downstairs, where other activietes were held, installa putting area with artificial grass and a net to practice with irons.
During the three days of the event was a golf school, at the head of which was the teacher of the Club de Golf Son Parc, Gustavo Flammia (Tato). The players were mostly children who showed great interest in the sport.
In addition to golf also include such diverse activities as soccer, basketball, table football, inflatable castles, cars and a lounge psychomotricity for children.
Complementing these activities were given several lectures related to the sectors represented. The rapporteur of the event was the star cyclist mallorquín seven times world champion, Joan Llanera.
The fair was a real success, as there were after the same 5,000 visitors, making sure that the experience will be repeated.

CHESHIRE UNION BOYS' SQUAD TEAM PICKS SON PARC FOR THE SECOND TIME FOR THEIR WINTER TRAINING 19 November 2009
THE CHESHIRE UNION , for the second year, has sent a group of BOYS' S QUAD, 15 boys in total, to Menorca to start a period of intensive warm-weather coaching under the direction of senior county coaches, Alan Thompson and Peter Barber.
County boys manager Michael Jones says: "It is difficult to coach certain aspects of the game when it is wet, when greens are soft, bumpy and slow. Also, with chipping, the coaches want somewhere with a firm surface, not off muddy surfaces or soft greens like you get on parkland courses in Cheshire at this time of year.” Son Parc, on the other hand offers good surfaces and reliable weather conditions.
The trip this year started on the 13th until 20th February 2009.

BALEARIC YOUNGSTERS RETAIN MATTHEW BROWN CUP 19 November 2009
The Second Matthew Brown Cup, played between teams of under-18 boys and girls from the Balearic Isles and the English County of Cheshire, proved to be an exciting event. In the mixed foursomes on the first morning, Cheshire won by four matches to one taking a healthy 8:2 lead into the lunch break. But the Balearics came back strongly in the afternoon, taking three fourballs to Cheshire’s one to leave the overnight position as a narrow lead for Cheshire by 10 points to 8.
As so often happens in the Ryder Cup on which this competition is based, the singles proved decisive. The day began well for the English team with Matthew Taylor taking the first match against Jaime Fuster 5 and 3 to make the score 12:8. But then wins for Azahara Mellado (5&4 over Imogen Wilson) and Claudia Frau, who beat Abbie Cowland 3&2, brought the two teams level. Ataulfo del Hoyo finished all square with James Newton and so did Toni Servera and Mark Geddes. So, with half the singles finished, the two teams were neck and neck on 14 each.
After that it was virtually one way traffic for the Spanish youngsters. First Alexandra Ferrer edged Kelly Paxton one up then Pep Juaneda and Nuria Iturrios comfortably won their matches against Martin Thomas and Zoe Evans, 4&2 and 6&5 respectively and to decide the destination of the Cup. Martin Leese managed to hold Jose Insua all square but Luna Sobron won the final match on the 18th finishing 2 up on Claire Fry to give the Balearic Team a resounding 23:15 victory. The visitors from Cheshire were however able to take some comfort from having reduced the margin of victory from 10 points to 8 since last year and, more importantly, had enjoyed fine weather, wonderful golf and making the acquaintance of new friends from across the sea.
Individual congratulations go particularly to Alexandra Ferrer, the only player to win in foursomes, fourballs and singles and Matthew Taylor who was a winner both times he went out.

SICTED - tourist quality system implemented at Golf Son Parc 19 November 2009
For the forth successive year, last June 2008, we have received the "Sicted" certification by the General Secretary of Tourism for the quality management systems relating to tourist destinations.
As part of the quality system we are establishing a client service questionnaire. Please help to improve and maintain the quality of our business by completing a questionnaire which will be available in the shop and inside the bar and drop it at the reception desk.

ENVIROMENTAL DECLARATION 19 November 2009
Golf Son Parc Menorca S.L. announces its commitment to the protection and improvement of the environment, by implanting a complete system of quality tourist destination (S.I.C.T.E.D.). We recognise that respecting the environment is directly connected with human well being and in our case, sporting excellence.
We believe that by putting into place a system such as this, it will be fundamental to the contribution of the conservation of our title as a Biosphere Reserve. It is for that reason that we have opted for plans which pursue the following objectives:
· Good Internal Management: to manage a golf course and its auxiliary installations in such a way that minimises the noxious impact on the environment and use natural resources as well as following local, national and European regulations concerning environmental matters.
· The conservation of the Biosphere: to expand to the maximum the ecological potential of the golf course. For that we hope to collaborate with non profit making organisations who put into practise environmental protection plans.
· Communication and Education: to ensure that the staff adopt both political and practical positions in favour of the environment and these are perceived by and transmitted to the public.
· Saving water and energy: by following controls and results as well as the awareness of both staff and golfers. Investing in control systems for a computerised irrigation system and of course by using “recycled water” to water the course.
· The use of cleaning products “non aggressive to the environment”
· Minimise the generation of dangerous residues.
· Recycling of paper, cardboard and plastics.
In order to implement these objectives, certain environmental management criteria are emplaced that take into account the aforementioned objectives as well as the needs of the golfers, the staff that work and other interested parties.
If managed properly, we believe that golf can act as a model to be imitated for good environmental practise.

THEY CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF GOLF SON PARC 19 November 2009
For four friends from Manchester, coming to Son Parc in the spring for a week’s golf has become an annual event. Brian Atherton, Peter Hargreaves, Norman Evans and Ron Blezard are now in their late sixties but still play off very respectable handicaps ranging from 9 to 20. And, in fact, they love the place so much that they have been coming for fourteen years and two of them make an extra visit in the autumn as well! So between them that adds up to around ten thousand drives, ten thousand sunk putts – and quite a few shots in between.
They were very fond of the original nine hole course especially the old fifth with its tee on top of the hill – sadly this tee was lost in extending the course to 18 holes and will be the site of luxury villa in the future but the approach and green remain as part of the dogleg fourteenth. They enjoy the new holes too and always find the course challenging.
But it isn’t just the golf they come for because the friendliness of everybody at Son Parc and the great food in the clubhouse (a building much extended and improved since they first came) are all part of the attraction. So too is the island itself and they have often found themselves making the short drive to the picturesque fishing port of Fornells for dinner after a hard day on the course.
And you could be doing the same thing - we are only a couple of hours flying time from the UK and there are flights from most airports between May and October. 18 Holes Officially Opened 19 November 2009
Saturday 12 August 2006 was an historic day for Golf Son Parc. At 8 o'clock in the morning, Golf Son Parc founder Hugh Brown struck the first offical shot on the new 18 hole course. He was playing with family friends Steve and Thomas Proffitt and long time Son Parc staff member Stephanie Crossley in the official inauguration competition. This invitation-only competiton was initially limited to 88 players but demand to be part of this special day was so high that the Son Parc team pulled out all the stops to enable almost twice that number to participate.

15/11/2005 - Golf Son Parc Menorca. La gran aceptación que el deporte del Golf ha tenido durante estos ultimos años entre los niños de Menorca, obligaba a esta Delegación a dar un paso hacia delante en la formación de estos nuevos jugadores.
La Federación Balear sensible ante la demanda realizada desde Menorca, se puso a trabajar en la posibilidad de crear en Menorca una sede propia de la Escuela Balear.La respuesta no se hizo esperar y a principios de Octubre se desplazaron a Menorca la Presidenta del Comité de Infantiles Francisca Negre, el Gerente Ricardo Moralejo y el profesor Marcos Juan, para por una parte explicar a los padres el Proyecto de Constitución de la Escuela en Menorca, y por otra proceder por parte de los profesores Marcos Juan y Gustavo Flammia a realizar una prueba a los 30 jugadores de la Escuela del Club de Golf Son Parc o niños con licencia federativa, para con posterioridad poder seleccionar a los jugadores mas avanzados que serán los tutelados por la Federación. La totalidad de los gastos que su formación ocasione será subvencionada en su totalidad por la Federación Balear a través de su Delegación en Menorca.
Esta Escuela viene a ser el espejo de la ya existente en Mallorca. La formación de estos jugadores se realizará semanalmente por el Monitor de la Federación en Menorca Gustavo Flammia, y mensualmente por un profesor de la Federación que se desplazará hasta nuestra Isla.
Como complemento de esta formación están previstos desplazamientos a Mallorca para participar en las pruebas organizadas por la F.B.G y controles técnicos. Del resultado de las pruebas, los alumnos seleccionados para formar parte de la Escuela Balear de Golf con sede en Menorca son: Xavi Torres Huguet, Pau Torres Huguet, Artem Koblow, Azahara Mellado, Isabel Van Der Graaf, Alex Carreras Graig, Andrés Martínez Artal, Antonio Recuenco. Cecilia Fdez-Reyes, Gabriel Palomo.
La delegación en Menorca de la Federación Balear de Golf quiere agradecer públicamente la gran sensibilidad demostrada por el Presidente de la Federación Pablo Fuster así como por el restos de los componentes de su Junta Directiva. Igualmente agradecer al Sr.Hugh Brown propietario del Campo de Golf de Son Parc y al resto de sus empleados por cedernos sus instalaciones y la paciencia demostrada con los niños, sin las cuales este ilusionante proyecto seria inviable, agradecerle igualmente el gran apoyo que con carácter general y en particular con el tema de los niños están prestando a esta Delegación. Destacar por ultimo, el trabajo de la Junta Directiva del Club de Golf Son Parc pues a ellos debemos, poder contar con una escuela con mas de 30 niños, que nutrirán a la recientemente creada Escuela Balear de Golf en Menorca.

Computerised irrigation system commissioned 19 November 2009
The photo on the right shows Mark Ganning, European Design Manager of leading irrigation specialists RainBird, putting the finishing touches to our new computer-controlled irrigation system. Its commissioning represents another great step towards completing the new course and will reduce our dependence on rainfall. Every drop of water is precious and the RainBird system (probably the most sophisiticated irrigation system in Menorca) will enable us to ensure that the water goes to the right place at the right time to deliver the top quality golf we are committed to providing.
Mark and the RainBird team have worked closely with us for many years and we are delighted to pay tribute to the professional service they have always provided.
